a warm spring for her cold winter

by Marlon DeLeon

the time has passed
and season changed
but she's still so cold
time to put away her winter clothes
as the sun rises
and the warmth caresses her skin
she's still cold inside
time to let that pain melt away
time to put away her winter clothes
slowly like the snow
her heartbreak disapears
but she's sure that like the seasons
it will return
all she can do is hope for spring
as the sun keeps rising
she keeps warming up
and flowers will bloom
so until next year
time to put away her winter clothes

Poignant short narrative poem about a sense of loss and attempt to deal with it. Great use of symbolism.
