Mustonen (edit)

by Leonard M Hawkes

"Karlo, Karlo," I said,
As I looked Eastward
To ceremonial fires
On the Pacific shore.

And I see you still
With the full moon rising
O'er the long-grass
Meadow on Carter Creek.

And again as I stand
'Neath the spruces;
Song filling the void
Of a Teton summer night.
