the lonely crow in the playground by Marlon DeLeonwith laughter all around
children ran and played
with sunshine in their smiles
worry free they climbed the castle.
close by, swiftly gliding down, landed sarrow
with it's black feathers and sharp beak
unbothered by the motions around it.
as children swing thru the air
a line forms to take turns on the slide
full of life with stars in their eyes
death creeps by strutting it's proud presense
taking quiet steps with wings tucked in
and darkness in it's eyes
slowly, one by one, the children went home
the air still filled with happiness
their laughter faded into the distance
now left all alone this evil spread it's wings
casting a long shadow caused by the sinking sun
it flew away vanishing as easily as it appeared
so remember on this day
the devil pranced unnoticed amongst hope and innocence 06/06/2007 Posted on 06/06/2007 Copyright © 2025 Marlon DeLeon

| Posted by Gabriel Ricard on 06/07/07 at 03:56 AM I love this freaking title. It kicks ass in perfect sync to the rest of the poem. |
