Forever in June

by Mike Loftis

Forever in June

IÂ’ll love you forever
her whispers sang
Sweat slicked bodies intertwined
Etched eternal in memory
Seven June still haunts my mind
Good-bye forever
her silence screamed
Angry eyes and then we part
Etched eternal in memory
30 June still breaks my heart

Man, do you send this sentiment home in great style. I really liked this.

You come back swinging! Quite an empahtic message in a short but compelling poem. Welcome back Mike.

Those moments that you speak of, it's like a psychic imprint that doesn't leave for a LONG time. I know. Hope it fades sufficiently in time.

How eerily strange -the way relationships can turn. And the clock stops in those moments and ticks away somewhere in our minds/heart-thumps...forever and ever...

The way you managed this poem? —memorable and fine-tuned (in my humble!)
