HEAT

by Maria Terezia Ferencz

scorching heat hit her in waves
sickening dizzying spirals
of fire, making her gasp for water
crying for the coolness of rain

as quickly as it scorched, it was over
aware that things were happening too early
parts of her body that should still be asleep
waiting for time
were awakening, she in a panic wondered why
not ready for this beginning,
she ran for the comfort of cool white
blanketing her skin
holding her underneath
safe

Silently Sleeping She shaken awake
her resting stage of white cut short
by the Hellish HEAT
as always it returned to taunt her

scorching heat hit her in waves
sickening dizzying spirals
of fire, making her gasp for water
crying for the coolness of rain

Pleading for help from above, from below
Praying to the powers that be for release
Hoping for a sign that this torture would end

She saw it then
a tiny little hand
turned off a light

Author's Note: Mother Earth, My apologies I am guilty also. God has decided when lights out should be, perhaps we should have listened. ~M~

I really like the ending. It somehow made me very happy.
