Summer Love

by Elizabeth Seago

Reckless.
Young hearts unprotected
Blinded.
New love is
Farsighted.

Drugs and late nights.
Broken vows
Never sure how
It came to this.
With one pill she finds bliss.
With four she
F

S
Into a vast abyss
Of dialated pupils
and broken promises.

...And suddenly the man who swore he'd be there
Rummages for excuses;

Running scared

I agree with Jared - great downbeat carries this exactly where it needs to go.

the reckless part will perhaps disappear hand in hand with the young. take the pain and use it as a life experience...you will move on, look back & be grateful. believe it or not.
