On Eagle's Wings

by Alisa Js

can we still have our September in May
if I get off my ass and do something
significant perhaps,
impressive even
and show you I still dare on a good day,
about those dreams we once shared
those plans we made,
when the world was our oyster, remember
it all began during the month of May ...

a quick glance in the mirror reveals
we still have time if we hurry,
before the next roll of rationalization
this notion of reason
or bleeding annotations ...

twenty four months, over seven hundred ways
how could you not impact my life, my very being
your essence unadulterated
eternally changes my everything,
a feather falls
and I wait on eagle's wings ...
