Posted by Coleman Demiurge on 06/01/07 at 02:39 PM Yeah, the poem itself is quite good (kind of reminds me of the epilogue from Raising Arizona -- I can't help being weird); it has this effective feeling of a happy actualization... Which I usually run from, but I am staying put this time. I like the Villanelle form, I use it often in fact, but it is tricky. The first line of each stanza is "suppose" to rhyme with third line of each one as well. That's the rule, but hey, were rules not made to be broken? Nevertheless, Dylan Thomas has an excellent Villanelle called "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night", which is definitely worth checking out sometime... Anyway, yes, good poem - very nicely done indeed! |
