Aye Sea

by Maria Terezia Ferencz

We are only sea
drifting drops are people
generational waves our sea
we our only sea
shifting shapes of people
undulating anemones

see our only we
in waves of anonymity
surging currents of animosity
enemies aweigh futility

Aye Sea is as I see
all aweful humanity schooling
masses baited by awful reality
we rushing unendingly
roaring to deaths shore

Author's Note: This is what I thought of while looking out at all the people at a concert last night.....

Wow! —so many incredible swerves with words, and much 20/20 vision! Your ending here is a stunning masterpiece!

Must have been some pretty inspiring music, too. Very clever word use!

Great metaphor, Maria! And the unique wording makes you stop & contemplate. I love the image of the crowd of people swaying like anemones. And the ending is perfect. :)

Fusion or depersonalization? A mesmeric ebb and flow swells the impression of inexorable motion towards the inevitable. Roughly translated...mmm. :)

Too true and very well said. Somehow poems come out of all kinds of situations. Glad you could see this insightful one when you were having fun.
