Stagnation

by Tota Longmire

I am stagnating
Like still water.
Mosquitoes are laying
Their little eggs of doubt
In the depths of my being.
Algae clouding my thoughts
And leeching the life from my soul
When did I stop being a stream and
Become a little, smelly puddle?
