Scrambled by Alisa Jsthe baby was faint and drawn from a tissue
wet still, with a drop of mother's milk
it was a strange etching yet utterly captivating,
enraged my sensible nature
of what I would like to believe
straying just this side of some tawdry idea of reason ...
the doctor refused to see me today
garbled notes managed to leak and piddle
from that receptionist who always had it in for me
I didn't do anything,
she doesn't know me from Adam or Eve
I am discovering you best not assume anyone, nowadays ...
we could cut through the silence with razor blades dull
frosty glares through the roof
double speak wrapped itself around unwilling tonsils
and those who knew nothing acted so very blameless,
just sat there, straining the fool
and I wonder ... 05/21/2007 Posted on 05/22/2007 Copyright © 2026 Alisa Js
