Richard was an unemployed investment analyst.
Even investment analysts must eat, he thought to himself
As he stood in line (mourning his pride) at the soup kitchen.
Lingering in the corner of the room was a stockbroker he knew.
Irene, what are you doing here?  Richard asked.
Getting down with reality, Irene replied.
Nodding, Richard watched sadly as they ladled soup into his bowl.
