Motionless

by Jeffrey Parren

Trying to think of what to say
instead of letting the fingers
toil away during troubled times
I sit motionless upon keys black
dooming myself to words unfounded
and emotions left to penetrate
all that is safe - without sanctuary
I build up walls that were once down
finding it again easier to hide
rather than be myself and show it all
so that someone can figure me out,
save me, since I can't do it all alone,
it seems that an answer is around
the corner, I just need to make the move
and break the pose.
