Moonlite Mile

by Christopher Shin

I loved the way
you were when
the words seems to
flow like a dream.

When you laughed
at ever word,
and the long
moon lite mile
dragged on forever.

And slowly I was
yours for a moment
when you smiled
when the wine
didn't make me
feel real.

When all I needed
was a little hope,
and a smile on
the ruby lips
that seem to fade.

I'm older and
death seems
so kind.
I wish I was
young like
them memories
slowly blurred.

Now it's time for me
to say that I love
the silver in my hair,
and the time that
has faded.

When all around me get
married and my parents
slowly become closer to
their graves.

And I all I have
is myself and the
wrinkles of life.
