Have you noticed
The care
People give
When choosing
A bunch of bananas?
Lifting the bunch up
To see the underside
Touching possible soft spots
Analyzing the greenishness
And yellowishness
To decide
If they will rot
Before they are all eaten,
All while having
A very serious demeanor,
Does produce that isnt prepackaged
Bring out
The serious side
Of our nature?

Author's Note: I've seen people choose apples, oranges, pears, etc., with care, but bananas seem to be the most cerebral effort.
