Not A Word Spoken by Jeffrey ParrenWe layed down on the towel
finding the day so difficult,
waking up, walking to the beach,
sitting down, laying down.
The really hard part endured
endless applications of lotion
to fend off those lovely rays
we came out to enjoy.
Once the enjoyment began,
I remember reaching out
to touch your face and shade
your beautiful eyes.
I carefully took a pinky
and started at your earlobe
while brushing hair away
hiding your face coyly looking back.
Your cheekbones so inviting
and subtle smile tells me of
your undying concentration
like always given to me, us.
I know you so deeply, yet
without uttering a word upon,
images like this will continue,
for our eternity together. 05/18/2007 Posted on 05/19/2007 Copyright © 2025 Jeffrey Parren
