Sleep, Interrupted
by Jeffrey Parrenyellow beams cascade through this
dense amazon rain forest
interrupting my sleep
while raindrops creep into my mouth
i taste the life they provide
also the dust from the treetops
washed away
for all to see its brilliant colors
vibrant with life
