One
by Jeffrey Parreninside me resides a latent creature
ready to burst at my hefty seams
sell off all my belongings
live under a bridge
live off the land
walk to my next destination
survive by means unknown
yet bodily active
simply carrying a pen and a book
wearing everything i own
scouring the countryside for that next phrase
the next stanza
to the poem i call life
the best thing ever written
