hitting slow dribblers to second
hitting a lowly .250
mimicking promise of a career?

what if
all the priests of the world
decided to be teachers;
who would instruct our youth
after incarceration occurred?

what if
mother theresa of Calcutta
cared about materialism
cared about herself
focused on perceptions?

what if
eminem, jay z, tupac, biggie
all became another statistic
worse yet, wrote in a journal
and never expressed vocally?

what if
people accomplished little
or not their destiny;
potential unfound
wasting away a life given?

what if
i never wrote this
became a doctor
saved lives
all but my own?
