The one down the block
With the twelve cats

Loneliness is set aside for the old widow
Stuck in a place in time
When the other half was around

Loneliness is set aside for when age overcomes
Not at 26 and in my prime
So much yet unexplored

Loneliness has set aside some time for me
Crippling my hopes of marriage
Strangling what's left of social graces

Loneliness finds me at work
Waiting on tables
Thousands of people every day

Loneliness and I
Sitting in a tree
No happy ending here.
