Show Me the Man you are

by Alisa Js

I want a man who can keep up
balls to the wall when need be,
full throttle
not some backwards boon doggie
wielding around his half cocked baton
like its some olympic record setter...

and on those occasional days when silence is king
be ready for nothing and anything
unencumbered bliss,
no scripts to rehearse
waiting to douse
unexpectedly,
show me yourself without question
I will promise a lifetime of devotion and care ...

life is for blowing past forgotten dreams dying
trampled dregs of yesterday's ilk,
gone sour
stewing in piles of shit,
splattered across revolting and worn out pledges
from some second hand bookstore you once tended ...

tell me again how much you need me, completely
a half-assed anything stinks and repels
an otherwise clean slate,
there is a measure of madness
in all things great,
beauty on the horizon, teeming
brooding
get off your ass and show me something!
worth believing,
grab my attention ...

hehehe I glad I'm not literally on the end of that... Having said that I suppose I am lol. A great write, shocking in parts but obviously meant as such. Well done.

This one makes me think of someone who has gone from the stage of grief, now slipping into one of anger in the loss of a loved one. Poignant, painful and passionate in this piece. Well done and "pushing the envelope", to you use a cliche, compared to your other work!

...alisj...i just read it, been away for a few weeks (they let you out if you "admit" yourself for obversation!)... i agree w/ all the readers above...you touch each tangent that's spoken to, more the punch o' life that comes w/ venom, but i read it too like the others...just a dynamic emphasis of "being"...women-soft, guys-rough what ca-ca!...am glad too to not be on the stinging end, buuuuut like dave says...sorta wish i was too, you're the teenager in blue jeans we all wished for: some "cute gal" that would trip us and thennn beat us to the floor, nhahahaha...on your words chosen: i love them, just enough daily slang and a proper O.E.D. ones keeps a novice handy with a thesarus...lovely, write, peace, chaz
