Finding Love

by Jeffrey Parren

I know that when I find love
Rainshowers will mean wet embraces
Kissing as if the sun was out
The day was "beautiful"
Ignoring the weather
Finding sweet nothings
As pitter patter of raindrops
Fill little puddles in your ear
And I kiss, lick, suck them out
Living off water that has graced your presence

I know that love is found
When responsibility means
Saying forget work and forget sleep
Because your arms are what I respect
And fear, for losing them scares
Me more than a job, a timetable
Money, a boss, meetings

I know when love is found
Clothes are lost
Humility is gone as well
Running passed windows
Naked bodies frolic without regret
Bump without pain
Sweat in sweet ecstacy
Finding out quirks and minute blemishes

Writing an ode to our imperfections
I find how much we fit one another
Enabling a bond so tight
The world couldn't break us
We are imperfectly perfect together
Even the rain stops, and takes a look.
