aim it toward my mouth,

lend its attention to me for awhile
and maybe later I'll give it a little nibble
but best if you keep it attatched;

I only mean to borrow it
for a few minutes

and I don't know what Van Gogh was thinking
but really,
it's useless
without you on the other end of it.
