...oliver, i was struck by your UNFINISHED tag and yet e v e r y piece of work is unfinished...i mean that as real as i can be...and so and so, you make a good side note and i love the way towards the end you posit that Hey! even joy can come at anytime!!!! (my exclamation marks)...and tis so true...we have plenty of time to "see" all the bad in the world, our life, the past (stupid broken dates--a teenager's woe, loss of a love one, or joy of the birth of an awaited one) and yet it's difficult to see Joy... maybe it's not finished in your words---more of less that you wanna say...but you've said a mouthful...i bow to your glimpse of Joy for a moment...one to treasuse is the one you see-feel...a neat package...peace, chaz

I have this book. It's actually one of four in a single volume. I've really got to read it. I don't think I've even skimmed it very well yet. I always go to "The Business of Heaven" and get lost in it or "Reflections on the Psalms". I can't wait to meet him one day. He's shaped my thinking about God more than anyone else probably because I accidentally happened upon "The Silver Chair" when I was in about 4th or 5th grade and have always loved his writings.

Makes me think of "Surprised by Joy", by Kierkegaard (I hope that is spelled right).
