mr. moon is shooting blanks by Shonda Chrissonberrythe moon is pink tonight
no
not a baby pink
more of a Amaranth pink
it seems to have this
strange little smile
sitting directly atop my house
it sprinkles wishes
in the form of shooting stars
Star Light, Star Bright...
they seem to fade so fast
the wishes and the stars
why do i even bother?
i always end up
happily never after anyway 05/06/2007 Posted on 05/06/2007 Copyright © 2025 Shonda Chrissonberry

Posted by Gabriel Ricard on 05/06/07 at 06:11 PM I really like the language and approach to the imagery. It's got a simple, but completely effective style going for it. |
Posted by A. Paige White on 05/07/07 at 11:43 AM The "Mister Moon" in the subject line caught my attention. I'll never hear or read that little phrase again without hearing it in the voice of my two year old grandson. mittah mooooooon" I enjoyed the pink imagery. I've seen many harvest moons, but I don't think I've seen a pink one. Lucky you! Ditto to what Gabriel said. Really enjoyed this. |
