I've missed you

by Ymelda Ramirez

From across the airport our eyes meet.
Transfixed in the presence of each other.
No expressions on our faces as we move closer to one another.
Silence surrounds us.

I've missed you.

It's only you and I.
We stop, standing face to face.
You look down upon me.
Your hand raised to caress my cheek.

I'm amazed.

I reach over,
remove the bag off your shoulders
gently stroking my hand down your arm.
Very slowly you pull my lips closer to yours.

We kiss.

Our hearts pound in unison.
We've been waiting for this moment.
The soft warm movement of your tongue
sends chills down my spine.
I pull in closer.

I need to feel your body.

Drowning in your soul.
Finally holding you in my arms.
Feeling your warm breath upon me.
So many days have passed since we first spoke.

Now I am with you.

Exhausted, we pull our lips apart.
Only to embrace with our stares.
You smile.
"Hi."
You say,
"I've missed you."
