I remember nirvana

by Amanda Bullington

I remember nirvana
Meditating under twinkling stars in the sky
Breezes gusting through our hair
Causing me to hold your body ever closer to mine

I remember the rose colored pillows we shared
Scented with vanilla, your sweet perfume,
And your cranberry flavored lips as we kissed
Under the light of the moon

I remember holding your hands in mine
Legs akimbo, lighting candles to generate
The wooded scents of nature while we laid amid fallen
Bits of leafy moist oaks, ivy twined about your face

Rising, I remember, to pull your body nearer mine
As the wind blew faster, and the night began to end too soon,
And asking you for our last dance together,
Under the light of the moon.
