Eastering

by Leonard M Hawkes

Tonight within the quiet dusk,
(Though you may not know it)
Sanctuaried deep in the heart of the hills,
I will lie beside You.

High above common habitations,
Beyond the monotonous
Mechanizations of humanity,
We will bivouac in our own Light;

And through the clarity of April,
Devoutly we will gaze upon
The serene, apparent visage
Of a random-ordered Eternity.

There, upon soft, moist earth,
Beside near-naked, bud-leafed maples,
We will listen to the life sustaining
Mantra of the Stream;

Blending in temporal rhythms
A counter harmony of our own.
And as comfort from the darkness' chill,
In free-shared warmness, we will be One.

This is gorgeous, the use of some of my favorite words, "temporal", "mantra"...definitely serve to bring it home to my heart.
