If by Alisa Jsif you could give me a home
would you?
complete with the reign and the strain of
what could be
or leave it to chance
maybe a memory
of what never did take place,
anyway ...
if you could promise me happiness
would that be a lie?
or some clever conversational lure
left out to dry in the heat of the moment
wafting it's way toward the sunny side
of that other place we seem to endure
on those cold nights alone as most always ...
I want to race backwards in time
run past those pages, breezing faster now
lifting with each gust
the lines from our faces and
other areas I dare not discuss, here
stop!
right there
let me show you my penthouse
it's gorgeous,
I had no one
but now, I have you
take my hand and we'll step off here
peer through this veil with me,
I'll show you the roof top
the view is breath taking
and that's on a foggy night
with shadows for boxes and wishes for dreams
you think you know me
but do you, really?
have you any idea
even a clue?
we could have been something,
we could have had everything
beyond your boundaries I would gladly have pressed
into,
you fill in the blanks
I dare you! 04/13/2007 Posted on 04/13/2007 Copyright © 2024 Alisa Js

Posted by Gabriel Ricard on 04/17/07 at 07:06 PM I like the voice in this. You can almost hear it getting stronger then pulling back. |
Posted by Tony Whitaker on 04/18/07 at 07:35 AM I can so relate to this. I read so many different meanings into this, but what stands out is the last stanza and it ties it all into how we sometimes think we know someone, when we haven't really stopped to look at what is inside, which men are greatly deficient in doing. |
