revolucion 'revolt'

by Matthew Sharp

we where swindled out of our gold
when our paradise was sold

this congregation of persuasion
is only 231 years new
it'll never leave the womb
make room for the sonic boom
of another consumer being consumed

the sheep go: moo

stuck in a monotonous groove
afraid to move
so they raised a zoo
for me and you
to breed
and feed our kids to.

we allow them to continue?

too many people are too content with what they have to challenge, well, anything... i'm also found guilty of that quite often... i think we all are... great write.

Fascinating imagery and lots of real thinking in this piece, a challenge to the status quo. The title is unusual and I tend to think it depicts the standardization of things (even the shape of potato chips) covers over the stench unseen... (a good (shapely) analogy). 231 is a great number --as if about to explode ("sonic boom") but it actually points to the historic 1776. A really fine insight and application. And so what to do with the disatisfaction? That is the question... but unsaid is at least some of the answer...write good poetry...such as this... and this place is a better place for what we can say in words. That seems the best to me.
