Thoughts on Willie Dixon

by Tony Whitaker

The blues
sighing of lost souls
piquing senses
washing away
stains of days
drying wetted thoughts
creating characters in
weeping strings and
the sorrowed slide
rising from the
sun-baked backs of
cotton filled memories

Author's Note: No need to say how I feel about the blues...
"You men eat your dinner
Eat your pork and beans
I eat more chicken
Than any man ever seen, yeah, yeah"
