Why Does a love so Good....

by Joe Cramer

Why does a love so good

Always leave me tired?

I want to sleep all of the time

Tangled up in your arms.

I want to eat with you,

Sleep with you.

Spend long hours talking to you.

There are so many things that I want to know

As my sleep suffers, my mind races.

I would call you several hundred

Times a day.

Kiss you in empty parking lots

As we close down bars,

Necking in cars.

My sleep suffers,

Yet I have some of the best sleep

(And dreams, too)

Of my life.

You have said that you

Would not be my wife

So we just sleep together

And say our good-byes

At the start of day,

And our hellos,

At close of day.

I still dream of you

Longing for the day

That I can truly share

All the words of my heart.

Until then, I steal kisses,

Wishes and dreams.

Why does a love so good

Forever leave me tired?

Breathless...
