Found Fragments

by Angela Cotterman

I know you can appreciate
the flavor of mint
chocolate and how it divines
a summer day too hot to move,
so I inhale quickly and tell
you that I've thought of Irish
Isles so often that I've created
memory of you before we met.
Although I don't possess a
picture of you, tourist,
I grasp to me the mythic
tale of your curls, stumbled
upon, as I've discovered olive
trees and slender fingers tuned
to Montana two step romances
in the wild green of youth.
