Incomplete by Alisa Jswash over me and try to reach
this mound of flesh
I call my home
if only intermittedly
I stay and breathe
laying awake,
alone ...
oh! what a comfortable scene
in this lovely daydream
I have everything,
yet nothing makes sense
without you ...
am I asking too much
to be soul satisified,
and fly to the moon
wrapped in the arms of love?
and not with just anyone
for no one comes close
no one compares,
why even bother
I walk away in distrust ...
I don't blame them for trying
hell! I would too
still it means nothing
if not from you ...
I live for that day
tho' it may never arrive,
those shores I do dream of
the seas and this tide,
relentless ...
will we share these sweet waters
taste the nectar sublime
and finally succumb
to the only song
my heart longs to sing,
you with the key
and me
with this melody,
yet, incomplete ... 04/09/2007 Posted on 04/10/2007 Copyright © 2024 Alisa Js

Posted by Gabriel Ricard on 04/10/07 at 03:55 AM I really like the way you end every stanza. It really lends something good to the voice of the poem. As always, a pleasure to read. |
