In trying to be everything to you

I become nothing, lost and alone.

To give you all of my love, all I wanted

Was to share your life, bring you joy.

Now I remain lost to your love,

Alone again, no lesson learned.

In hoping that your love would be the one,

I gave away yet another piece of my broken heart.

Loving you more than I thought that I could,

Sharing this love that I knew was just right.

In my attempt to be everything to you,

I lost another part of me, such as I do.
