My First Sock Hop

by Tony Whitaker

I waited so long
she walked in with another
feeling so alone

04/08/2007

Author's Note: Ninth grade and my first attempt at asking a girl to go with me to the dance. She lied and said yes.. But at 5'10" and weighing 105 lbs soaking wet (I now weigh 190 and in pretty good shape), I was the boy that everyone picked on and called skinny, thin man, etc. However, as a late bloomer, I made up for lost time in the military. heheheheh!

Hi Tony. This hits home with me. I bet you've got a poem there in your authors comment, too! Nice job. Thanks.
