More of a Romantic than a Realist

by Joe Cramer

I am so much more of a romantic

Than a realist,

Wearing my heart on my sleeve

Rather than in my chest as it should be.

I worry, I ponder, I watch the time

I wait for you.

This consummation that I know little of

Brings my long day to a close,

Watching this sordid life pass me by.

The clocks on the wall tick

Their cacophony onward,

Appeasing my sensibilities.

My romantic soul,

A paradigm in its lack of virtue,

Away from the reality of it all

Questions my ulterior motives,

While I forever wait for you.

So nice to know there are other fellow romantic souls around... who understand the wonder of love... especially with that special one... whenever he or she arrives... think of it this way...the anticipation felt will be sooooooo worth the wait...and there is so much to make up for. That's what I tell myself, anyway...... aloha..;-0
