Just A Small Push

by Sahar Rahim

He smiled and I fell
Guess it was that simple
And of course more complex than I can put into words
It's really only the first few flutters
It has my mind wandering, wondering

Something about his eyes
Just made me smile
He's got amazing eyes
The kind you can stare into all night
Feels safe, feels nice

We laugh and we talk
And at first I thought it was just one of those passing thoughts
The he's nice kind of thought
But something changed tonight
The moment I really looked into his eyes

A connection, one of those sparks
Just lit up between us and I really don't think I'm the only one who felt it
And when he kissed my hand
I wanted, I felt
A way I haven't felt in a long time
Too long a time

So I think it could go somewhere
Given a little bit more time
A little push for someone to take that step to cross the just friends line
A line we never drew...so it shouldn't be too difficult
Yet of course I'm hesitant
But I'm feeling the butterflies

I love the first stanza, especially the first two lines. That's just a great way to start this thing. Nice work.
