Beguiling

by Joe Cramer

In our conversations I am elated

At the thought, at the prospect

Of learning so much more of you.

When we speak, I smile, though

Very wary of the passage of time,

Not that I am keeping track.

In our conversations I am smiling

While you are always so beguiling,

Longing for longer conversations.

I enjoy your use of "beguiling" in this as the title and in the next to last line. Usually you think of it in a negative connotation but this flips it wonderfully. I just had a conversation last night that I wanted to never end but knowing there would be more made it ok. I am there with ya! ~JPP

Really like this! Interesting how different people view different words. Beguiling has always been charmingly elusive to me.
