spiteful by Matthew Sharpas refreshin
as the lesson
you wouldnt remember if you was guessin
dont start stressin
a blessin
on the message
i'll never be bested
i'm animal tested
my facial expressions
can never properly feature
this creature
that eats you
like leaches deplete you
of muscle tissue
a missle hit you
fire against tissue

Posted by Kathleen Wilson on 03/28/07 at 05:31 AM There's real "fire" here, an intesity that forces the language and the rhyme, and the rhythms toward release-- and practically breaks the poem in two. The spitfire leaves one limp, but refreshed in the forthright one breath expression of it. |
