Sleep, I bid you by Leandra K BrossardRest my friend, rest
lay down your head to sleep,
Yours is a long and weighty toil,
too many tears to weep.
Too many times been broken,
that which beats within your breast,
Too many times unspoken,
what so greatly longed for breath.
But all of that is done now,
since you found your way to me,
Sleep, I bid you slumber,
no more harm shall come to thee. 03/22/2007 Posted on 03/22/2007 Copyright © 2025 Leandra K Brossard

Posted by Jeffrey Parren on 03/22/07 at 04:34 PM Wow I really enjoyed this. The topic is a kind and gentle one and the words are new and refreshing. Really enjoyed the wording in: "Too many times been broken, that which beats within your breast,." I am a sucker for the "that which" combo. I enjoy the overall feel and control of it as well. ~JPP |
