bumper car symphony

by Matthew Sharp

watch the cattle battle
a destructive rattle
held t oge th e r

sludging through the glue
chasing a shadow that never knew
fishing from a tipped over canoe
lost in the spew of serpentine sedation

let the puke dry.
piss on the sky...
our eyes.
the filter in the drain unseeked

Such an undertone to this poem, awareness of the herd instinct of the workaday world,,, and a lovely bursting forth out of it from ground to sky, ah... a refreshing voice of impatience, yes.
