As A Footnote, Succinctly by Joe CramerShe moves softly, quickly, quietly
Through the pages of my life.
Ending up as a footnote, succinctly
While I still wonder what's right.
Poets are still all bent over a word
In the blank coffee houses of the world
And these same thoughts are all still unheard
As the last pages are yet to be unfurled.
She remains inconsequential to me,
I watch her in the corners of my eye.
Just a brief moment of time, my frivolity.
This life still left us, always wondering why. 03/19/2007 Author's Note: To my old friend Lillian, who will never see this.....

Posted by Alison McKenzie on 03/20/07 at 10:46 PM It's funny, the way some encounters, even if just in thought, end up affecting us. This has an air of mystery about it that makes me wonder if it was live or memorex...I like it. |
