I have
never been
an I
despite my
worst aspiration
to gather my
self into bits
and pieces of
particles of
dust that mite
have some effect
on something
other than veins
or skin
or something
deeper than a
four foot wave
that would rise
and fall just
below my chest
though it could
be delectable if
we who were always
just you and
someone else could
find a way to be
some semblance of
a we or just
them or they or
something solid
but
I have
never been
an I
and I wish you
were never
you
