Honky-tonk melody

by Keith D Allison

Did she whisper did she cried

I'll never know

because  I die

whiskey River

my old friend

let me hide

with in my sin

the day are gone

when beauty sang

when kisses sweet

were mind to take

Did she whisper did she cried

I'll never know

because  I die

whiskey River

my old friend

let me hide

with in my sin

My child is grown

she raised along

Time has passed

this story told

my page is empty

forever…  falling…

to take it back

oh take it back

but the story told

the story told

Did she whisper did she cried

I'll never know

because  I die

whiskey River

my old friend

let me hide

with in my sin

Hi Keith. Nothing like honky-tonk to kick-up great memories. Like that genre, this is melancholy, too. Thanks.
