Poetry - Thou Art - Poetry?

by Rhonda Maneki

Ah, thou art poetry, the flow of
emotion, through yearning veins
a need to express.

And oh, to find inspiration each
day, which is captured in a glance,
a thought, a moment.

Oh, to stand in awe, as the sun
glimmers through life in
reflections and shadow.

To behold, A beautiful moon
scape, which touches the heart.
The caress of a lover, the smile
of a stranger, perhaps,it's
a silence that echoes across
the soul, which inspires,
oh, so vividly inspires...

~write~

Poetry is passion for living
inked upon parchment with care,
with a purpose, for fun, for
the angst of life, to live,
revel, rejoice, to love,
to weep, oh yes, weep...
Wet the paper, smear the ink
give birth to more.

~create~

Poetry, are emotions colouring
the page with a life giving breath,
each word hovering within a cascade of
feeling, then scribed ever so carefully
in phrase or thought, which may flutter
tenderly, soar, tickle,or settle,
upon ones consciousness then float
to the surface of awareness
in a discovery of something new.

~experience~

And yes, something new about ourselves,
something familiar, that spectacular
adventure of emotion, a kaleidescope
of experience offered through the
sparkling of you the Poet, to the
soul of the Reader.

~celebrate~

Poetry is not about ego
its letting go of the ego
to embrace a journey of self.

I left my ego at the door,
I write from my heart,
I listen to my soul,

Ah, thou art poetry?

Author's Note: Poets, embark upon a journey, to explore, to find the deepest meaning of themselves in their expressions, to live their experiences of writing as one with the pen upon parchment. They will have the grace to kindly accept whatever is said through comments, thoughts, reviews in kindnesses. Each offering of a comment is a gift, there is always something to be revealed to us through another's eyes. it maybe that one something we may not have seen ourselves, yet, we may gain a new perspective to enlighten us upon our poetic paths. AMEN! ( I had a moment) *lol* I suck at grammar I can admit it.

So eloquently expressed! What poet would not wish to be the muse of another? A new definition now needs to be added to the dictionary.... JJ

Very well said. I've always believed that life is a series of encounters, be it with others or ourselves, be it a short or extended encounter. Each if viewed closely says something about the other and ourselves. The difficult part is in hearing what is said. Nicely done.

Wonderful intuitive journey. To define poetry is like "catching the wind..." Each person will have a different way - that it means to them. Your words take the reader on a journey through the channels of your mind, where inspiration may or may not begin (ok, sometimes it comes from outside the brain into it, rather than from the inside out)? yes?
