The Day The Earth Stood Still

by Tony Whitaker

Fate has pulled us together at last
friends for so long speaking only of our paths
platitudes of nothing but meaning much more
this night orbits cross and worlds collide

Like the asteroid ending the Mesozoic
her smile crashes through this thermosphere
an aurora in an instant flashed my once stable world
forever destroyed the future once prescribed

Like celestial objects our bodies collide
flames of lust rush in to fill the void
creating the barren fields of an uncertain world
too late to stop the sands of time

Mesozoic magnetism personified. Oooh la la... S3 is hot and spicy.
