Government Discretion
by Tony Whitaker
Government often has misled
as it investigates and mediates
while meaning no harm
to consumers and corporations
Government shares the blame
trying to adopt simple strategies
while present at the birth of a new industry
with all the excitement and promise of a stripper
It pays each citys point man
and to city boards who also award
on projects as complex
building a busy stretch of lanes along discretion
Can we trust their daily readings?
Of their highly specialized devices
to make the air you inhale healthier
from what is commonly called soot

| Posted by George Hoerner on 03/04/07 at 09:04 PM It is so important to keep questioning what is going on in the society that might reduce the level of freedom or increase the absolute power of the government. The primary issue for government is to maintain or to increase power. The only thing protecting the general public is a level free speech which hopefully bring to everyone's attention any failure of government to work for the "public good". That leaves a lot of room for error since in any country which is somewhat free, there is frequently much disagreement in what is in the "public good". Thanks for keeping in front of our eyes. |
