the pretty body of schiele's sister

by Indigo Tempesta

spiders waiting to be fed,
schiele's sister's pets.
all pretty pets stretching out legs
of skinned girl red
and peeling, and all furry skin,
gaping as achilles at patroclus' armor
before the rage, before the hunting of hector
before the furies of ajax and the killing of cattle:
seeing hushedly the skeletons unfold, starving young limbs,
seeing mingle his bones with his friend's bones, if only enough could be killed in time.

Where do you get some of this imagery from? Wonderfully intense stuff, Ms. Tempesta. You never fail to kick my ass.

I see the city walls. And the mingling.
