What Becomes of Dreams

by Christopher Shin

Suddenly I'm here,
and an explosion of
hopes and dreams.

When the desire to be
more then who I am
explores the blackness
of the voids.

Only to become the
humblest ignorant child
that slithers and lunges
for an embrace.

Dreams shatter around
me and cut each piece
of my heart.

Deeper droplets of crimson
flicker and rain down
as if each drop
was the swores of an
unstitched heart.

Yet no pleas or
promises of a happy
ending can be heard,
but the cold reality
of only a lesson
learned.

Tragic and remorseful.
All the lessons that
burn in a simple thought
lingers to the day we
die.
